The Cambodia Microfinance Association (CMA) organized the Annual Seminar of Rural Credit Institutions on “Risk Management and Building Resilience of Rural Credit Institutions” on October 24, 2025, with the objective of updating the progress and strategic plan for 2026–2027 of the club, sharing knowledge and best practices on risk management and building resilience for the
rural credit sector, and particularly strengthening cooperation, close relationships, and solidarity among rural credit institutions, regulators, and stakeholders.
Speaking at the annual seminar, Her Excellency Dit Nita, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Cambodia Microfinance Association, highlighted the crucial contribution of rural credit institutions in promoting national economic growth and reducing poverty through the provision of responsible and inclusive credit to rural citizens for expanding and developing businesses. At the same time, Her Excellency also emphasized the Association’s past efforts to promote the sustainability of the banking and financial sector by carefully implementing regulations and guidelines issued by the regulator, enhancing financial literacy among customers and the general public, as well as various other endeavors. Furthermore, Her Excellency encouraged rural credit institutions that are not yet members of the Association to join in order to receive numerous benefits.
This important seminar was held under the presidency of Mr. Men Phakdey, Head of the Customer Protection Department of the National Bank of Cambodia; Her Excellency Dit Nita, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Cambodia Microfinance Association; and Mr. Oeur Sothearith, Chief Executive Officer of Credit Bureau Cambodia (CBC), with the participation of over 100 representatives from rural credit institutions. The event was sponsored by Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc., Credit Bureau Cambodia, Titan Stone Life Insurance, KB PRASAC Bank, Khema Microfinance Institution Limited, and FinzTrust Technology.
