The second and final day of the international training program was successfully conducted in Seoul, Republic of Korea, through the collaboration of the Cambodia Microfinance Association (CMA), Water.org, and CrePASS.

Day 2 focused on the practical application of digital lending, including the use of alternative data, credit assessment technologies, and automated credit decision-making systems to support responsible lending and effective risk management. Participants also explored real-world case studies from Korean financial institutions on leveraging digital technologies to advance financial inclusion and improve access to financial services.

In addition, participants attended a presentation by Mr. Men Pheakdey, Deputy Director General of Regulations and Financial Inclusion, National Bank of Cambodia, on “Financial Literacy in Digital Lending and Regulator’s Perspective.” The session highlighted the benefits and emerging risks of digital lending, the importance of financial literacy, consumer protection, and the role of regulators in promoting safe, incl usive, and responsible digital finance.

The program also covered climate-related credit risks, client affordability assessment, and key regulatory considerations for digital lending. Participants concluded the training by developing practical action plans to apply key learnings within their institutions.
