The Cambodia Microfinance Association (CMA), in collaboration with Credit Bureau Cambodia (CBC), organized a workshop on “Digitalization and Governance in Rural Credit Institutions for Responsible Financial Inclusion.” 

This event was organized with the objective of sharing in-depth information regarding financial technology, the implementation of good governance, as well as the opportunities and challenges faced by rural credit institutions in adopting technology to strengthen their operations efficiently and inclusively. Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Sok Voeun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cambodia Microfinance Association, highlighted the association’s efforts in modernizing financial technology systems and implementing good governance among its members—particularly rural credit institutions—through various initiatives with the National Bank of Cambodia and relevant partners, aiming to achieve responsible financial inclusion. 

It is worth noting that this half-day workshop took place under the chairmanship of Mr. Men Phakdey, Head of the Data Management and Macroeconomic Analysis Department at the National Bank of Cambodia; Mr. Sok Voeun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Microfinance Association; Mr. Oeur Sothearith, Chief Executive Officer of Credit Bureau Cambodia; Mr. Pheng Phap, Head of the Cambodia Rural Credit Institutions Club; guest speakers; and representatives from approximately 60 other rural credit institutions.
